Yesterday was a holiday here in the Philippines because it was the Feast of Sacrifice. Tomorrow, Wednesday until Friday, I’ll be working from home. So officially, I went to our office only today. That’s 1 out 5 days of work.
On Fridays, Me and my husband are not oblige to report to our office. We have an option to work from home on this day and, in reality it gives us additional time with our kids as well.
Since I need to test one of our software product using a broadband satellite equipment tomorrow and on Thursday, I was allowed to work from home. The satellite needs an open clear skies so it can communicate to another satellite. I hope it won’t rain tomorrow so I can do the testing.
Working from home, with my own prescribed time is actually one of the reasons I love my job. I can even play badminton or jog in the morning before reporting remotely and do my job.
I was talking again to my husband this evening if he wants to find another job abroad or from another company but he told me he will only do that if the company will give him (and me) the same benefits of working from home and no restrictive of working time. My husband is a fan of quality results than working 8 hours or more. He’s actually trying the formula written in the book, 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferris. Tim believes in the concept of getting more for less and he’s actually one of the start-up angel investor of the popular networking tool, no less than Twitter. If you want to know more about Tim Ferriss, just Google his name and see how popular he is.
Perhaps my husband and I cannot attain yet the 4-Hour workweek in the near future but we are working toward it. We don’t mind if we can’t do it yet, but the most important thing is we have time for each other and with our kids too.
To be honest, our family don’t celebrate Halloween but this doesn’t mean that we don’t visit our relatives during these long vacation holidays. Actually this is one of the holidays that we are looking forward to because it gives us the opportunity to travel for a longer time.
Just like the holidays, we all look forward to reunions during Nov. 1 and 2. Wherein, we get to taste real Filipino dishes like “sapin-sapin,” “biko,” and “puto,” lemon bisquits, “suman” and a lot more foods that are not only sweet but are every Pinoy’s favorite to eat during these times. If they are not cooked by grandmothers, our aunts or moms of course would love to sample their own Filipino style recipes of these goodies. Else, you can buy these from baking stores like Continue reading →
My husband had been urging for the longest time to join running events in the past but I’ve been postponing it every time. It’s not that I don’t like running but the idea of waking up in early in the morning to practice makes me having a second thought.
But when my brother, whose company is into advertising, told me that he will sign us up for the Adidas King of the Road marathon, I cannot back out anymore since he told me that it’s

My sisters and our kids
FREE since they’re one of the sponsors. I immediately informed my husband and he was glad that I grabbed the opportunity.
So last Sunday, was my first official running event. The marathon was the final leg for the Adidas King of the Road – South East Asia race. It’s more of a fun run for us since my eldest son joined me and my husband on this, together with the family of my two sisters. Continue reading →

Do you write your own reviewer for your kids? Have you compiled and saved them in your computer or laptop?
I have a plan to upload reviewer here at PinayMom.org. This is of course for free, for all students and moms (including dads) who are looking for reviewers for their kids.
I have compiled a number of reviewer already. These are lessons from my kids who are in Grade 1 and Grade 3 respectively.

You might ask, why there’s a need to write your own reviewer if there’s already a lot of reviewers in the internet that are free? The answer is very simple. I agree that there’s plenty of uploaded reviewer out there already including essays, and some are even offering research papers free service. Unfortunately,a lot of them Continue reading →
Do you buy and sell online?
If you are the Buyer, how can you guarantee that the seller is not a scammer?
And if you are the Seller, how do you trust your buyers if they are legitimate?
I used to sell some second hand items online. I even met with the potential buyers (with my hubby as my bodyguard, obviously for security reason). And of course, I even bought items online mostly from local sellers so I can meet them personally too.

And now, my husband is urging me once again to do business online. It’s more of a buy and sell. He wants me to buy items either locally and from abroad, add a profit margin of 20-30 percent then sell the items again online. He told me that I can do it even if I have a full-time job. He even volunteering himself to be the messenger of my business, if time won’t permit me to meet with the sellers/buyers.
What bothering me is, what’s the best business credit cards that I need to use so I can order online specially from international sellers? Continue reading →
The Land Transportation Franchising Board (LTFRB) released the list of most dangerous buses in Metro Manila. The aim in releasing the lists to the public is to urge companies to be more careful with the welfare of their passengers. I hope not only for their passengers but the public in general because theses buses are also dangerous to whoever are their path, either it’s another bus, a private car, an establishment or even just a plain balut vendor in the street.
Based on the lists below, you know already which among the bus operators are on the 3 lists, and I personally recommend not to take your life chances with them. If you are a commuter, the list will give you the options which one you will take on your next ride.

The LTFRB list is broken down into three categories—number of deaths, injuries and property damage. Continue reading →
For the Filipinos, September 21 is “Martial Law” day. It was the day when President Ferdinand Marcos put the entire country under martial law. Most people connote it as a negative day. However, this is not my topic today. I want to share to you the positive aspect of September 21, not only for the Filipinos but for the whole world.
September 21 is the United Nations’ (UN) International Day of Peace. It is celebrated each year to recognize the efforts of those who have worked hard to end conflict and promote peace. The International Day of Peace is also a day of ceasefire – personal or political.

On this day, also known as Peace Day, people around the world take part in various activities and organize events centered on the theme “peace”. Continue reading →
My husband and I together with our group of mountain bikers had a nice ride last week. We we went to unheard Crocodile Lake and Dampalit Falls. Both are located in Los Banos Laguna. The total distance we ride that day was 68.11 kilometers, according to my husband cyclometer. This is the longest bike ride I’ve been so far!

Crocodile Lake Los Banos
The Crocodile Lake is not that much popular among the bikers and tourists. I think because aside from the lake itself, you won’t see much any much sight seeing in the area. There’s not much development. In reality, the lake is surrounded by private houses already and some resorts. My husband and I were expecting something more of a rural settings. We’d chanced to see few old boats, houses and handheld water pumps. Apparently, upon asking the locals, we were told that most houses are already operating their own electric water system because according to them deep well pumps prices are much cheaper in the long run.
As we pedaled our way to Dampalit Falls, my husband and I Continue reading →
